Volunteer as a dance partner to older adults in an Adapted Tango class. Adapted Tango is a technique for teaching Argentine tango, modified to address the needs of older adults and adults with Parkinson’s. Adapted Tango has been shown to improve balance, gait, quality of life, mindfulness, community involvement, and reduce depression in older adults. Volunteer dance partners will dance tango, learn Adapted Tango techniques, as well as fall prevention techniques. No dance experience needed!! This is a valuable opportunity for experienced dancers to share their passion and a fantastic way for novice dancers to learn about tango. A certificate of volunteer participation is available upon completion.
