Adapted Tango Teacher Training Fundamentals
in Albuquerque, New Mexico
with founder Dr. Madeleine Hackney.

Learn to use Tango as an intervention. No dance experience is required to take this course. This teacher training is designed for dance instructors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, fitness instructors and personal trainers interested in sharing argentine tango with older adults and adults with Parkinson’s. Dr. Hackney’s system has been used in over 10 studies helping older adults, adults with Parkinson’s, and older adults with visual impairment to improve balance, gait, mobility, as well as enhancing quality of life.

Dr. Madeleine Hackney began studying the benefits of tango for adults with Parkinson’s in 2006. The results were extremely positive and twelve years later Adapted Tango classes are now offered in several states in the U.S., in the United Kingdom, Japan and Israel.

Attendees of this weekend workshop will receive a manual, training and the experience needed to teach Adapted Tango in their own community or facility. This course provides 1.2 CECs from the American Council on Exercise.
